Cinnamon Sugar Pastry Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Dough

01 - 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
02 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

→ For the Coating

03 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
04 - 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

→ For the Filling (optional)

05 - Dulce de leche or chocolate spread

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin.
02 - On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth any creases. Brush the entire surface of the puff pastry with melted butter.
03 - Starting from one end, tightly roll up the puff pastry to form a log. Cut the log into 1-inch slices.
04 - Take each slice and gently twist it to form a spiral. Place each twisted slice into a greased muffin tin cavity, with the cut side facing up.
05 - Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
06 - While the cruffins are baking, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Once the cruffins are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Brush each cruffin with melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated.
07 - If desired, fill a piping bag with dulce de leche or chocolate spread. Insert the tip into the center of each cruffin and squeeze gently to fill.

# Notes:

01 - Churro Cruffins are a delightful fusion of croissants and muffins, inspired by the flavors of churros.
02 - For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
03 - These are best served warm on the day they are made, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days and reheated briefly in the oven.
04 - If you don't have a piping bag for the filling, you can use a small plastic bag with the corner snipped off.
