Soft Sweet Condensed Milk Bread (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (440g), with extra for dusting your work surface
02 - 1 packet instant yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
03 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
04 - 1/2 teaspoon salt

→ Wet Ingredients

05 - 1/2 cup warm milk (120ml, heated to about 110°F)
06 - 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (60ml)
07 - 1/4 cup softened unsalted butter (60g)
08 - 1 large egg
09 - 1/4 cup warm water (60ml)

→ For the Topping

10 - 1 large egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water for the egg wash

# Instructions:

01 - Start by combining your flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl. In another bowl, mix your warm milk, sweetened condensed milk, soft butter, egg, and warm water until well combined.
02 - Slowly pour your wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring with a spoon or using your hands. Keep mixing until you get a sticky dough that starts coming together.
03 - Turn your dough onto a floured surface and knead it for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and stretchy. If you've got a stand mixer, you can use the dough hook for 5-6 minutes instead.
04 - Shape your dough into a nice ball and pop it in a greased bowl. Cover it with a damp kitchen towel and let it rest in a warm spot for about 1-1.5 hours, until it doubles in size.
05 - Gently punch down the dough and divide it into 8-10 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and arrange them in a greased 9-inch pan, letting them touch slightly.
06 - Cover your rolls again and let them puff up for another 30-40 minutes while you preheat your oven to 350°F.
07 - Brush the tops with egg wash and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. You'll know they're done when they sound hollow when tapped.
08 - Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then move to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!

# Notes:

01 - You can prep the dough a day ahead and let it rise slowly in the fridge overnight
02 - These rolls stay fresh for 3 days in an airtight container, or freeze them for up to 3 months
03 - Try mixing in chocolate chips, raisins, or coconut for a sweet variation
