Homemade Garlic Breadsticks (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Breadsticks

01 - 1½ cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
02 - 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
03 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
04 - 4 cups all-purpose flour
05 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
06 - 1 tablespoon salt

→ For the Topping

07 - ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
08 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
09 - ½ teaspoon salt

# Instructions:

01 - Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in a small bowl. Let it sit 5-10 minutes until frothy.
02 - In a large bowl, combine flour, butter, and salt. Add yeast mixture and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
03 - Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour until doubled.
04 - Divide dough into 12-14 pieces, roll each into a 6-7 inch rope, and place on a baking sheet. Let rise another 20-30 minutes.
05 - Bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes until golden. Brush hot breadsticks with melted garlic butter mixture right after baking.

02 - Can be frozen after baking
03 - Make sure water isn't too hot or it'll kill the yeast
